STEP 1: In a team meeting, describe the In-the-Know process, and share how you would like to provide the opportunity for team members to receive information and clarity regarding team and organization issues.
STEP 2: When team members want to know more about a team or organization issue, ask your team members to email you the question/issue, or drop it off in your mailbox.
STEP 3: Prepare to address the identified issue in an upcoming meeting or conference call. When discussing the issue, be sure to:
- Describe the issue
- Share what you know about the issue
- Outline the benefits and drawbacks of the situation
- Clarify your role and the team’s role in the situation
- Discuss what you and the team can expect to happen in the future
