PURPOSE: Meet with your team to discuss the amount of space employees need in order to successfully deliver their goals and objectives.

Time: 30 Minutes - 1 Hour

STEP 1: In a team meeting, discuss the following:

What is the right amount of space you need in order to do your work?

(e.g., elbow room, autonomy, decision authority)

STEP 2: Employees should discuss a situation when they:

  • Didn’t have enough space to do their work
  • Had the right balance of freedom and autonomy

STEP 3: Based on the team discussion, identify and share the space actions employees and the manager will take in order to improve the amount of space provided to the team member.
