Time: 2 Hours
STEP 1: Identify up to 5 people who can give you feedback on your caring actions, and send them the following email:
I have chosen to take action to improve my caring skills and would like some help from you. In the next 30 to 45 days, I’d like to follow-up with you to receive feedback on my caring performance. When we talk, I will ask you the following questions:
- What caring actions have you seen me perform?
- What impact have my actions created for individuals, the team, and/or the organization?
- What improvement ideas do you have for me?
Thank you for your help. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
STEP 2: Identify a follow-up date when you will ask each person for feedback. Record the date on the Caring Feedback for Me worksheet.
STEP 3: At the time of your follow-up dates, schedule a 15 minute discussion with each person to receive feedback on your caring actions.
STEP 4: After receiving feedback, record the feedback on the Caring Feedback for Me Worksheet. Be sure to thank each person for his or her time and willingness to provide you feedback on your caring actions.
STEP 5: Based on the feedback you received, ask yourself the following:
- What caring actions do I need to do more of?
- What actions do I need to do less of?
- What additional actions should I integrate into my caring improvement plan?
