Map Your Network

PURPOSE: Outline your network and identify ways you can build up your personal network with other key players. 

Time: 1 Hour

STEP 1: Identify and record the following on the Map Your Network Worksheet (CURRENT Network Description):

  • WHO should I get to know to help achieve current and future goals?
  • WHERE do I need more visibility (Key Leaders, Decision Makers, Work Groups, Work Settings, etc.)?
  • WHAT am I currently doing to network? 

STEP 2: For each area (WHO—WHERE—WHAT) identify additional actions which will help to increase your network.  What are the actions you will take to build relationships, increase visibility, or enlarge your current network? 

STEP 3: Periodically review your networking successes and determine what additional actions must be taken and/or if there are additional leaders you should get to know or build your network.
