STEP 1: As a team, discuss some of the senior leaders in your organization, and identify a senior leader the team would like to talk with them to outline how the team supports the organization’s mission and strategy.
STEP 2: Schedule a time for the leader to speak with the team.
STEP 3: Before the discussion, share the team goals and deliverables with the leader, and ask them to be prepared to discuss how the team’s goals and deliverables significantly impact the organization’s mission and strategy.
STEP 4: As a team, prepare a number of questions to ask the leader during the discussion. Team members may want to discuss:
- What additional actions can we take to help achieve the organization’s mission and purpose?
- What expectations does the leader have for the team?
- What the team needs from the leader to successfully deliver the team goals and deliverables?
