Personal Actions Mini-Assessment

PURPOSE: Determine if your personal actions are perceived as more effective.

Time: 1 Hour - 2 Hours

45 Days Before the Mini-Assessment:

STEP 1: Identify the individuals and/or groups who will be most impacted by a change in your personal actions and share your desire to improve your personal actions.

STEP 2: Explain why you have chosen to improve your personal actions. Describe how an increase in performance will help you, the organization, and others.

STEP 3: Solicit their help and feedback. Ask the individuals to support your development by observing your actions for 45 days. Tell them at the end of the 45 days you will give them a Personal Actions Mini-Assessment to evaluate your personal actions.

The Mini-Assessment:

STEP 4: After 45 days, give a copy of the Personal Actions Mini-Assessment to the individuals you asked to observe your behaviors—ask them to complete the Personal Actions Mini-Assessment honestly.

STEP 5: Request that the individuals return the assessment to you when they are finished.

STEP 6: Summarize your results for each statement.  Where do you have strengths and weaknesses? 

STEP 7: Identify actions you will take based on your Personal Actions Mini-Assessment results.

STEP 8: Share these actions with the individuals who gave you feedback and thank them for their help.
