STEP 1: Identify the skills and capabilities you would like to build over the next 12 months.
STEP 2: Based on the skills and capabilities you would like to build, identify two individuals who can provide coaching to you on at least one of the identified skills and capabilities.
NOTE: You may want to ask your manager, peers, or a mentor for ideas about who can help you.
STEP 3: Record the names of the individuals on the Coaching Network Worksheet, identifying the specific area, skill, or capability the individual can provide the team member coaching on.
STEP 4: You should solicit help when needed, and schedule dedicated time to receive direct coaching from the individuals within his or her Coaching Network.
STEP 5: After 90 days meet with your manager to discuss the following:
- Have the individuals in your Coaching Network begun to help you build the desired skills and capabilities?
- What actions must be taken to increase the amount of help you receive?
