STEP 1: Identify your personal triggers...what work events or situations lead to frustration, anger or high levels of emotions. Record your triggers on the Buffer Zone Worksheet.
STEP 2: For each trigger, determine what you can do to create a buffer between the trigger and when you respond to it. Record the buffer next to the trigger on the Buffer Zone worksheet.
Note: The Buffer Zone creates time for you to respond with the right level of emotion and address the situation appropriately and professionally. When a trigger occurs, implement your buffer before you respond to the event or situation.
