STEP 1: Send the following email to your team members:
To help achieve our team goals, we want each of our team members to have the tools and resources they need in order to achieve success. To ensure that each of us has what we need to deliver high performing results, I would like to know what additional needs you have in order to be successful. Please take a moment and think about the following:
What is ONE resource that can help you…
- Deliver faster results
- Deliver results with higher quality
- Deliver more results
Please respond to this email by listing ONE resource that can help you perform at a higher level of performance. When responding, be sure to include:
- A description of the resource
- How it will be used
- The results it will help you to achieve
After receiving your response, I will touch base with each of you to discuss the next steps.
STEP 2: After receiving each team member’s response, determine the following:
- Can the resource be acquired for the team member?
- What actions do you need to take in order to obtain the resource? What actions does the team member need to take?
- If you cannot meet the need, is there another resource that you can provide that could help the team member deliver high performing results?
STEP 3: Meet with the team member to share the actions that must be taken to obtain the resource.
Note: If you cannot provide the requested resource, be sure to share why the resource cannot be obtained, and discuss what other resources may also help the team member.
