SOLUTION:

Friends Outside
of Work

PURPOSESpend time with co-workers outside of work to build relationships, get to know others better, and share your passions with those around you.

Time: < 1 Hour

STEP 1: Determine whom you would like to get to know better, spend more time with, or learn more about at work.

STEP 2: Decide whether a 1:1 or a team building opportunity would be the best opportunity to spend time with them outside of work. If you’re interested in spending more time with a team member or team members, maybe you offer a team building opportunity. Making pottery, wine tasting, manicures, or a round of golf are some ideas.

STEP 3: Once you determine who you would like to invite, reach out to them. Be mindful if the other people are married or have kids, as that may make evenings more challenging.

STEP 4: Schedule the event and share your enthusiasm with those who will be joining you.

STEP 5: On the day of the event, offer to drive so you all will have more time to talk. You might also have some “get-to-know-you” games to learn more about one another. Enjoy your team building… who knows what could come from it – a new workout buddy, someone with a similar passion, or someone who might be able to guide you in your career journey.
