Time: < 30 Minutes
STEP 1: Grab a full sheet of paper and a pen/pencil. Write down the first thing that pops into your head that you need to do today. Don’t worry about what order your list is in. At this point, you are brainstorming. Need to mail a letter? Write it down. Need to set an appointment to get your teeth cleaned? Write it down. Need to search for storage space so you can clean out your garage? Write it down. You get the point. Just write and go to the next line. Take your time but make the list until you feel there is absolutely nothing else that you need to accomplish today.
STEP 2: Now take a breath and review your list. Find the most important thing on your list for the day and place a “1” in the margin. Then work your way through the list until you have successfully numbered every item.
STEP 3: Complete number one and cross it off. You will feel accomplished with each item that you scratch off. Whatever you don’t finish by the end of the day, move it to tomorrow’s list.
STEP 4: Do this every day for a week and then grade yourself. Feel free to convert to electronic lists on your phone if that works for you.
