Time: 30 Minutes
STEP 1: Each week, think about the interactions you’ve had with friends and family (on the phone or in person), with someone at the grocery store, or with another driver on the road. For each interaction, consider the following:
- Your level of feelings during the event
- Your level of actions in response to the event
STEP 2: Using the Red Zone worksheet, chart each interaction based on your level of feelings and actions. Place the interaction in the appropriate quadrant.
STEP 3: Once your interactions are mapped on the chart, think about the following:
- In which quadrant do most of your interactions fall?
- What events fall in the Red Zone? Is there a connection between the situations?
- What situations are easy for you to handle?
- Do certain events (i.e. traffic, interactions with family) trigger more emotion?
STEP 4: Based on your Red Zone review, determine what actions you can take in the following week to reduce your number of Red Zone events.
