STEP 1: Identify your personal triggers...what events or situations lead to frustration, anger or high levels of emotions. Record your triggers on the Buffer Zone worksheet.
STEP 2: For each trigger, determine what you can do to create a buffer between the trigger and when you respond to it. Record the buffer next to the trigger on the Buffer Zone worksheet.
STEP 3: Next time a situation triggers you, implement your buffer before you respond to the event or situation. Create time for yourself to respond with the right level of emotion and address the situation appropriately and calmly.
