Time: 30 Minutes
STEP 1: Print the Communication Cards for each family member. Cut out the cards and give all four cards to each person.
STEP 2: Ask your family to pay attention to your communication actions and return each card once they “experience” you performing the communication action on the card.
STEP 3: When you receive a card from a family member, check-off the card in the appropriate member’s column on the Communication Action Chart, recording the date you received the card.
STEP 4: As you begin to receive the cards back from your family members, review the Communication Action Chart and think about the following questions:
- Is there one communication action you do more of or less of?
- Are you more effective at communicating with some family members versus others?
- Who do you need to improve your communication actions with?
See if you can get all four cards back from each family member within 30 days.
