SOLUTION:

Find a Nutritionist

PURPOSE: Schedule an appointment with a nutritionist to learn some helpful information about nutrition and your health that may not be mentioned by your primary care physician. Nutritionists can suggest foods and supplements to help with your specific needs.

Time: 30 Minutes - 1 Hour

STEP 1: Start your search for a nutritionist in your area. Ask your friends and network for recommendations. If you aren’t sure where to start, ask your primary care physician for the name of a nutritionist that they recommend.

STEP 2: Call the ones you are interested in and see if you can have a free initial consultation with them. If not, discuss your concerns over the phone, and see if you feel comfortable with their response. You may need to meet them to make this determination, but this is a good start.

STEP 3: Look at any customer reviews that you can find about this person to get additional information on their practice. This will give you a good gauge to see if they may be able to help you, if you’ll appreciate their bedside manner, or if they have specific experience with your health challenges.

STEP 4: Make a list of what is going on in your body – what’s working, what’s not, what is new, what is nagging, etc. Share your medical history information, as they’ll need it to complete their assessment. Take a picture or bring any medications and supplements that you are taking.

STEP 5: Meet with your nutritionist and share your details with them. They will likely suggest getting blood work done so they have a comprehensive understanding of your needs. After hearing their recommendations, you can make an informed decision about your next steps.  Enjoy your newfound knowledge and the healthy options designed specifically for you.
