SOLUTION:

A Daily Choice

PURPOSE: Recognize the empowerment that every single day can be a fresh start. Every choice you make is a chance to do something good for your body and mind. Be realistic with yourself in your Journey to intensify or maintain your health—give yourself grace for faltering and make time to celebrate your successes.

Time: < 30 Minutes

STEP 1: When you wake up don’t kick yourself about yesterday’s shortcomings or mistakes. Apologize where necessary, learn what you need to from the decisions and move on. Repeatedly reminding yourself of what “should have” been eaten, done or said is a waste of time and energy and does NOTHING for your mindset. Instead let these thoughts push you toward healthier decisions in the future.

STEP 2: Being healthy is not only about our bodies, but our mindset as well. Remind yourself each day that this is a NEW day with NEW choices. If you skip breakfast, do better at lunch. If you blew it at lunch, have a healthy smoothie and a sensible dinner. It is all about moving forward with each step.

STEP 3: Place motivating reminders nearby to keep the intentions of what you want to accomplish front of mind. Consider a visual reminder or an alert on your phone to keep you on track.

STEP 4: When you make a good choice, celebrate it! Give yourself kudos for getting out of bed to exercise or getting up early to make a healthy breakfast or lunch.

STEP 5: Use the crock-pot to help you eat a healthy dinner. You are then in control of the ingredients and portion size. This is a great opportunity to make enough to provide leftovers for lunch the following day.

At the end of the day, give yourself a pat on the back for what you did well, and recognize what got in the way in those areas where things didn’t go so well. Learn from them and rest peacefully knowing that tomorrow is another new day.
