Time: 30 Minutes
STEP 1: Spend 10-20 minutes on Sunday making sure you are ready for the new week and have all activities besides work noted on your calendar. Include exercise, meditation, walks, specific chores or errands, special time/dates with friends or family, calling those you care about, enjoying a hobby, etc. Update your calendar as needed and watch as you begin to develop a productive habit.
STEP 2: Make sure you are scheduling tasks to be managed during your most productive times of the day. If you are most energized and innovative in the morning, then schedule things during that time to increase the chances of them being completed in a timely manner.
STEP 3: At the end of each day, look at your calendar to confirm you achieved the most important things for the day. If you didn’t, move them to the following day to make sure you stay on track. Every morning check that your day will be managed with tasks in the morning (if that’s when you feel most energized and innovative). This is an invaluable exercise in taking control of your schedule. Use technology to make life easier, rather than letting it take over your life.
