Time: 30 Minutes - 1 Hour
STEP 1: Make a list of things that you are both currently good at and things you WANT to be good at. Remind yourself of what you’ve been praised for in the past, as well as things you know you excel at.
- Try to get at least 20 thoughts on your page.
- Get creative and don’t hold back at lifting yourself up in any way possible. Do not let anyone else’s ideas of you interfere with your list unless they are seeing strengths that were unaware of and you want to continue to develop.
STEP 2: Take five deep breaths before you begin to calm and focus your mind. Say your affirmations one to three times a day… every morning and evening works well. It is helpful to look at yourself in the mirror as you recite your affirmations. Say them with confidence and enthusiasm and speak them into being.
STEP 3: Take another three breaths, focusing on the confidence increasing statements you’ve said about yourself. Believe in the words and statements, giving yourself the appreciation and enthusiasm you deserve.
STEP 4: As more things come to mind that are strengths, talents, or important, add them to the list. If your list becomes pages long, that’s awesome. There truly is not a shortage of things that are awesome about YOU!
STEP 5: There is only one you, which makes you very special and your uniqueness should be shared with others, so don’t be shy about stating your affirmations. Reinforce to yourself that you see the wonderful qualities that you embody.
