SOLUTION:

It's Better to Give
than to Receive

PURPOSE: Bless others. We are a blessed nation, so it’s important to give back to those who are less fortunate. Below are some ideas to help you bless others. It truly is better to give than to receive.

Time: 1 Hour

STEP 1: Go on a mission trip with a church/volunteer organization. This is a great time to utilize your talents for good. Repair a dilapidated home/building or help build a school in a poor community.

STEP 2: Consider volunteering at your local church’s nursery or tutoring a child at a local school. Helping to educate the children in your community will better enable them to make a difference in the world and your community in the future. Use your knowledge and time to follow your passion for helping others around you.

STEP 3: Look for organizations around your city where you can give back, either with your goods, time, or money. You can help children, pets, battered or abused women and children, veterans, shut-ins, disabled, homeless and many other opportunities.

STEP 4: At least once a year, look through your closets and give away toys, stuffed animals, furniture, coats, blankets, shoes, and anything else that you can do without, but others cannot. Winter is a great time to do this, as many will go without during the holidays without our support.

STEP 5: Talk to your neighbors and see if they’d like to do a “community garage sale” with you to help others enjoy your treasures at a minimal cost. If the weather does not permit a garage sale offer to collect items from your neighbors and take them to a local shelter or donation center.
