STEP 1: Think about the following with regards to your current role.
- What role do you play?
- What are your current deliverables and work priorities?
- How do your deliverables and work priorities link to the organization’s mission and purpose?
- What additional actions can you take to increase your contribution to the organization’s mission and purpose?
STEP 2: Meet with fellow team members and/or your boss to brainstorm how the team can help achieve the organization’s mission and purpose, as well as what actions each team member can take to increase his or her individual contribution to the organization’s mission and purpose.
STEP 3: Discuss what each employee will deliver to make a positive impact on the organization’s strategy. Discuss the impact on the organization’s strategy if employees do not achieve the outlined deliverables.
STEP 4: If you realize during this process that your passions and purpose are not in alignment with your company’s goals, determine ways you can increase utilizing your gifts to support your current organization, or look for another organization where your passions could be more impactful and appreciated.
