Time: 1 Hour
STEP 1: Think about who you’d like to spend time with over an afternoon or a weekend. A friend, old coworker, sibling, or a child of yours. This might be a person who you know is struggling in their life currently, or someone who recently returned from an exciting trip.
STEP 2: Reach out to them and schedule a fun lunch or an afternoon enjoying each other. It might be nice to let this person choose the destination or you can suggest something you’ve wanted to try for a while.
STEP 3: Consider bringing something that will either make you laugh or create great memories (pictures, old yearbooks, a list of inside jokes, games or events, etc.) Even something as simple as asking someone to take a picture of you together will provide a nice memory for you both to enjoy. Enjoy your time with friends and family, maintaining a positive outlook, even if things don’t go exactly according to plan.
STEP 4: Follow up with a thank you note or a framed picture from the weekend as a mental reminder (for you, them, or both of you) of a great time with those you love. Then, plan the next time you will see each other, or select a new person to reconnect with and watch as this becomes more routine in your life.
