Big Rocks 

PURPOSE: Determine what your “Big Rocks” are in life, the most important priorities. Then determine what is the “gravel” in your life so you can make the necessary adjustments.

Time: < 30 Minutes

STEP 1: We have important priorities in life, and many times, they get covered up with “gravel” of life – those things take up a lot of time, but they don’t necessarily help us reach our goals and stay on task.

  • 1st – Determine your big rocks – whether you want to spend more time with family, get a promotion, have a date night with your spouse/significant other, get on a consistent exercise routine, start a weekly book club or bible class, etc.
  • Once you have determined them, build them into your weekly and/or monthly calendar.

STEP 2:

  • Determine the “gravel” in your life. What are time wasters that are taking up time, but not helping you reach your goals and follow your dreams? (Cleaning house, Facebook/Instagram, looking for things that are misplaced, binge watching, daydreaming, sleeping more than necessary, partying, etc.).
  • Make a list of your gravel and then determine how you are going to decrease/eliminate it from your life. You might even consider decreasing it for a month and see if you really missed it. Instead, use that newfound time to focus on your 1st Focus Area LIFEDriver. You will be surprised how much more time you enjoy on your LIFEDriver goal.

STEP 3: Each month, focus on decreasing the gravel in your life to make more time for the things in life that will make a significant impact in you reaching your goal and living an incredible life.
