PURPOSE: In a team meeting or with individual team members, generally outline the company’s overall team member pay strategy, highlighting how individual and department/team achievements impact compensation (how we pay people).

Time: < 2 Hours

STEP 1: Meet with your team or an individual team member and discuss the following:

Describe the company’s overall compensation strategy, highlighting how the plan is structured to reward ___________ results and ___________ actions 

 

STEP 2: Provide the opportunity for team members to outline possible scenarios to further understand the merit reward possibilities. Provide general examples of how good performance can lead to rewards.

Note: The purpose of the Merit Line of Sight discussion is to create a realistic understanding of the potential merit increase available to team members, and to create a clear picture of what it would take to trigger this increase.
