Time: < 1 Hour
STEP 1: In a team meeting, discuss the team’s performance by using the questions below to create a clear picture of the team’s current performance.
- What results has the team achieved?
- What results were NOT delivered?
- If an outsider observed the team for a week, what actions would this person see?
- On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 = “we’re the worst we can be”; 10 = “we’re the best we can be”), how would you rate the team’s current performance?
STEP 2: Based on the team’s current performance, identify the actions all team members must take in the following areas to deliver high performing results:
Start: What actions do team members need to start doing?
(e.g., Provide weekly project status updates)
Stop: What actions do team members need to stop doing?
(e.g., Arriving for and starting meetings late)
Continue: What actions do team members need to continue doing?
(e.g., Recognizing each other’s good work)
STEP 3: Review the Action Profile periodically (in meetings, conference calls, etc.) to highlight the team’s consistency with the actions needed to deliver high performing results.
