Time: 30 Minutes - 1 Hour
STEP 1: Review the company’s core values. List 3–5 values in a spreadsheet, noting their definitions (e.g., “Collaboration: Working together to achieve shared goals”).
STEP 2: Think about and observe your teams' behaviors, documenting consistent behaviors (“Team shares ideas in meetings, supporting Collaboration”) and inconsistent behaviors (“Siloed work delays projects”).
Assign each behavior a grade (A–F) in the spreadsheet based on alignment (“Collaboration: B, due to occasional silos”).
STEP 3: Analyze the grades. If a value earns an A, note the top reason (“Collaboration gets an A because cross-team projects thrive”).
If not, identify one action to move closer to an A (“For Collaboration (B), implement monthly cross-team syncs”).
Create an action plan in the spreadsheet: “Action: Schedule syncs with [departments] by [date]; involve senior leader to endorse.” Meet with your manager to review the plan, share with the rest of your team to promote unity, and reassess quarterly.
