PURPOSE: Ask senior leaders from different departments to meet with your team to share what your team is working on, and to get any needed help or information from their department to work effectively.

Time: 1.5 Hours 

STEP 1: Connect with your manager to determine which senior leader from another department would be the most helpful to connect with. Let your manager know you want to share what your team is working on with them to ensure you are all working towards the same organization goals as effectively and efficiently as possible. 

STEP 2: Get the leader's contact information, or have your manager reach out to them directly to set up a time for the leader to speak with the team.

STEP 3: Before the discussion, ensure you are clear on the team goals and deliverables you'd like to discuss, as well as ways in which the other department could support you. Questions to consider: 

  1. What additional actions can we take to help support what your department is doing?
  2. Is there a more efficient way for us to work together to achieve the organization’s mission and purpose?
  3. What the team needs from (the other department) to successfully deliver the team goals and deliverables?
