STEP 1: List 2–3 work goals that feel meaningful (“Mentor new hires,” “Improve client outcomes”) in a spreadsheet. Note why they matter (“Helping others grows my impact”).

STEP 2: Check your job description and team objectives. Identify alignment with your goals (“Client support matches mentoring goal”).

STEP 3: Schedule a 20-minute meeting with your manager to pitch: “Monthly feedback on goal alignment will make my work more fulfilling.” Agree on a 30-minute monthly cadence. Document feedback.

STEP 4: Post-meeting - update your task list (e.g., “Add mentoring session weekly”). Email manager: “Thanks for aligning [task]; I’ll start [action].”

Reflect: “Does [task] feel purposeful? (1–5 scale)” Log insights (“Mentoring increased engagement”) in your spreadsheet.
