Time: 1 - 2 hours

STEP 1: Dedicate time to a focused session in a quiet space. Aim to define what makes you uniquely valuable in my role or industry. List out:

  • Key skills (“Expertise in [tool/software]”).

  • Achievements (“Reduced project costs by 15%”).

  • Differentiators (“Bilingual, enabling client expansion”).

NOTE: Compare these to market demands for your role using job postings or LinkedIn to ensure relevance.

STEP 2: Draft a concise statement summarizing your value. Ensure it highlights skills tied to higher salaries (e.g., “Certified in [X], a top market skill”).  Example:

“As a [role] with [X years] experience, I drive [specific result, e.g., operational efficiency] through [skills, e.g., data analysis, leadership], aligning with market demands for [role]."

STEP 3: Schedule a 30-minute meeting with your manager to to share your value proposition and seek feedback. Ask:

  • “Does this reflect the value I bring to the team?”
  • “What additional skills would make me more competitive for a higher salary?”

STEP 4: Identify 1–2 in-demand skills or certifications (e.g., AWS for tech, PMP for management) to enhance your value proposition and earning potential.

Dedicate 1–2 hours weekly to building identified skills.
