Time:Â 30 Minutes
STEP 1:Â Give the Let Them Go Worksheet to your team member.
STEP 2: Ask the individual to identify one to two decisions, actions, or events they have a concern about.
Have your team member record the following:
- A brief outline of the decision or event
- The impact this decision or event created for the individual
STEP 3: In a discussion, ask your team member to talk about each decision or event and the impact created. Be sure to focus on creating an understanding of the individual’s perspective.
STEP 4: Based on the decision, action, or event, determine the following:
- What YOU (the individual) can do
- What the MANAGER (you) can do
- What YOU AND the INDIVIDUAL can do TOGETHER
STEP 5: Share what CAN and CAN’T be done and discuss WHY with the individual.
