Time: 1 Hour
STEP 1: Meet with your team to discuss the following:
- What is teamwork?
- How does a strong sense of teamwork help the team and individual team members? How does “little to no” teamwork hinder a team?
- If a team had the best teamwork on earth what would we see those team members doing?
- What do we see our team members doing in the area of teamwork on a day-to-day/week-to-week basis?
STEP 2: Based on the discussion above, create a “Teamwork Profile” by identifying the top 3 to 5 actions that all team members must do “more of” to increase the level of teamwork.
STEP 3: Follow-up with the team to evaluate how well the team is implementing the actions identified during a “Teamwork Profile” meeting. Based on the team’s assessment, determine what actions team members need to do more of or less of in order to continue building teamwork.
Note: Defining teamwork will help each team member know what is expected of them at work.
