SOLUTION:

Focusing On Just One

PURPOSE: During a regularly scheduled team meeting, identify one customer issue or problem the team should identify improvement ideas for.

Time: 90 Minutes

STEP 1: Before the team meeting, identify one customer issue or problem that must be solved for.

STEP 2: Send an email to the team outlining the following:

  1. A description of the customer issue or problem
  2. The customer’s current situation
  3. The desired results
  4. Where improvement is needed

STEP 3: Before the meeting, team members spend 5 minutes identifying ideas to improve the situation. Team members should be prepared to discuss their ideas.

STEP 4: During the meeting, team members present their ideas to the team. Questions may be asked to clarify the idea.

STEP 5: After the meeting, selected team members review the ideas and determine which ideas should be implemented or pursued.

STEP 6: A follow-up email is sent to the entire team summarizing the actions the project team or individuals will implement.
