STEP 1: Identify one action you are willing to take in the next 30 days to build a skill or capability you need to achieve your individual career goals. For example, you may want to meet with someone in the organization to learn what he or she did to be successful in a similar role, or you may want to schedule time in the area you are interested in moving to.
STEP 2: After you identify your one development action, discuss the next steps for taking the action forward with your manager or trusted advisor in the organization.
STEP 3: Begin the process. You’ve got 29 more days to go.
Note: If the development action is not realistic, work with your manager to identify an action that can be implemented and achieve similar results.
