STEP 1: There are several ways to inform people of the causes that are important to you. Social media is a great way to get some information out to your network—post pictures, the monthly newsletter, upcoming events, etc. You can also share information about your cause at a lunch and learn at work, or ask friends, family and co-workers to support you or volunteer at an event with you.

STEP 2: Share your time with your organizations. Look for ways to help however you can and post pictures of your volunteer time. Get to know the volunteer coordinator or other volunteers while you’re there. Connecting with others that share your same interest and passion will fulfill you immensely and potentially develop some new, unexpected friendships.

STEP 3: Share your organization’s needs and successes with others. When they hit a milestone, get a great donation, or are in need of something specific, share their information with others. Many people want to help, they simply don’t know how. Invite your social network to any upcoming fundraisers or events being held by the organization so they can join you in celebration.
