STEP 1: Consider situations where you see the same people over and over again. If you are in yoga or work out at a gym, you see many of the same faces at each yoga class or when you’re at the gym. Strike up a conversation before or after a workout with a few people that you see regularly. Talk to them about the class, your workout, their weekend, etc.—Simply trying to get to know them better.
STEP 2: After doing this 3-5 times, if you feel like there is a connection, invite them to coffee or a smoothie after the workout. You will likely be able to tell by their reaction if this is friendship that has potential. You have a great opportunity to build a friendship with someone who has similar interests.
STEP 3: If it doesn’t work out with one particular person, that’s okay! Repeat the above steps with someone new.
