STEP 1: Give the Let Them Go worksheet to your employee or family member.
STEP 2: Ask your employee, spouse, or kids to identify one to two decisions, actions, or events they have a concern about.
Have each person record the following:
- A brief outline of the decision or event
- The impact this decision or event created for the individual
STEP 3: In a discussion, ask your employee or family member to talk about each decision or event and the impact created.
Be sure to focus on creating an understanding of the other person’s perspective.
STEP 4: Based on the decision, action, or event, determine the following:
- What YOU can do
- What the OTHER PERSON can do
- What YOU and the OTHER PERSON can do TOGETHER
STEP 5: Share what CAN and CAN’T be done and discuss WHY.
