STEP 1: Think about what your loved ones want and need to hear from you. Have you told him/her “Thank you” or “I’m Sorry” recently? Think about their love language and how you can fill their Emotional Bank Account. What do you appreciate most about this person? Share what makes them unique, or a fond memory you have with them.
STEP 2: Send a text to your spouse, significant other, or kids to make them either laugh or melt their heart. Explain why they are important to you. Send a funny picture you took or send a joke you heard recently—get creative with your texts and enjoy a mid-day conversation with your family. Creating a group text with your family is another great way to increase positive communication within the whole family.
STEP 3: Challenge yourself to send at least one text a day that has nothing to do with anything but your appreciation of the person you selected. Try and text a new person each day or send an extra text to a friend or loved one who might be going through a challenging time in their life.
