STEP 1: Conduct an online search via Google, Facebook, etc. for shelters near your geographic area. There may be individuals or organizations other than your community shelter(s) that offer options for adoption.
STEP 2: Make a list of questions to ask when contacting each rescue and do a Google search for “what’s important to know when adopting a rescue” or “questions to ask before adopting a rescue.”
STEP 3: Before heading out to meet potential pets, you’ll want to have a crate with comfortable bedding for the drive home. Prepare to make the best decision on behalf of both you and your future pet.
STEP 4: Head out to your pre-selected location(s) to meet the staff, evaluate the facility and most importantly, “interview potential fur babies!”
STEP 5: Share a picture of yourself with your new favorite friend within your community and celebrate that you’ve just completed a very fun and loving LIFEDriver.
