STEP 1: Read up on the latest and greatest health news. The more you know about health, the more you can enlighten your loved ones. There are vast amounts of information on various health subjects, depending on your area of interest. There are also numerous ways to access these topics—books, articles, podcasts, documentaries, interviews, etc. A great place to start is on websites of the news platforms you already follow, health publications on Twitter, or ask your primary health practitioner for publications that they recommend. You can also ask friends or family members that you know are interested in health, wellness, and holistic healing. Chances are, they’ll have some great suggestions for you.
STEP 2: Inform yourself about health challenges the people you love are facing. You may find some alternative methods for them that they are not aware exist. Some of your alternatives may be out of their comfort zone, so tread lightly if necessary. Instead of just trying to research their condition, ask them to talk with you about it—ask about their perception, experiences and thoughts surrounding their challenges… not only to educate yourself, but to connect with them and show your support. Once you are more familiar with their relationship to their health challenges, you can consider purchasing something for your loved ones to see if it decreases pain or increases wellness.
STEP 3: Try something new that you’ve read about to see if it is helpful to you or your loved ones. Maybe it is juicing, diffusing essential oils, learning how to balance your chakras, or taking a turmeric or collagen supplement. As you try things, you will increase your knowledge and enjoy the benefits. With some time and attention, you can obtain, develop and maintain a deep understanding of health and wellbeing to share with your loved ones.
