STEP 1: Pick an activity. Seeing a movie or attending a music concert or sporting event are some examples of how to be entertained, while giving your mind a vacation from your current circumstances. Nowadays, many movie theaters have luxury seating and serve adult beverages and dessert making it a very comforting and relaxing experience.
STEP 2: Plan and budget (if needed) to complete your activity. Be creative and know what the costs are and how to be prudent in your spending so that it is not a financial burden. Remember, the easier it is on you and the more comfortable the entire experience is, the more it will enhance the likeliness of your return and making this a regular activity.
STEP 3: Enjoy and fully experience the event, going in with a positive attitude and open mind.
STEP 4: Within a day or two, journal any pros and cons of the activity and then list how you could have made it better and more enjoyable for the next time you indulge.
