Time: 1 Hour
STEP 1: Research personal trainers in your area, at your gym, or ask for suggestions through your social media outlets.
STEP 2: After you have some names, call them to discuss your fitness goals, your ideal duration of the sessions, and their prices. Always ask if they have any specials (if I bring a friend, or buy a certain amount, can I get a price break?). Ask if you can have your 1st session with them before buying the full amount to make sure that personalities and expectations are congruent.
STEP 3: Meet with them at your first session. Work hard and ask lots of questions. If you feel good about working with them, buy the remaining sessions. If you donโt, pay them for one and try the next potential trainer on your list.
STEP 4: Keep trying until you find the right person. If you choose to spend the money to hire a trainer, you want to work with someone who will push and challenge you, but also be someone you can enjoy during the session.
STEP 5: After each meeting, write down what exercises you did, how many reps, muscles used, etc. That way you can incorporate them into your weekly routines once you complete your personal training sessions.
