What's Cookin'

PURPOSE: Enroll in a cooking class. This is an engaging, challenging and hands-on way to experience something new, and has delicious results both in the long and short-term.

Time: 2 Hours

STEP 1: Research nearby classes online. Health food stores like Whole Foods or Central Market often have classes, as well as places like Sur La Table and Williams Sonoma. If you don’t have those in your area, look for local options, (local may also be less expensive).

STEP 2: Once you decide on a class, invite someone who would also enjoy the experience. A best friend? A spouse? Your teenager that you desperately want to connect with? A sister/brother you don’t see much? Maybe a girl’s night out?

STEP 3: Send some pictures to the person you invited to get them excited. Better yet, ask them to be available for the day and surprise them with it (assuming they like surprises). This is also an exciting gift to give a loved one for a birthday, anniversary or holiday.

STEP 4: Talk to others taking the class with you. You may make a new friend, gain some knowledge or hear about a great nearby restaurant.

STEP 5: Take pictures to remember the fun moments. Enjoy the food and take good notes so you can enjoy making it at home for your friends and family.
