SOLUTION:

Set Achievable
Goals

PURPOSE: Set realistic goals that are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely) to help you manage your expectations effectively.

Time: 30 Minutes

STEP 1: Determine a hobby or pastime where you want to spend more time. Think about what you want to accomplish and by which date? Break it down by week to determine if is achievable. Be realistic about what goals are long-term and which are short-term. If you are trying to accomplish too much too quickly you risk either hurting yourself or giving up prematurely. SMART goals can evolve over time. Start with smaller ambitions to motivate you to set longer-term and larger ones in the future.

STEP 2: Decide what you need to make this a successful goal. Do you need new running shoes? A gym membership? An accountability partner? A yoga mat? Get what you need so you won’t have any obstacles getting in your way. You know how you work best, so consider these things before you begin.

STEP 3: Set a start date (today!) and keep track of your accomplishments so you can see the great progress you are making. Record how you feel, how you look, what improvements you’ve observed, etc.
