STEP 1: Determine what kind of class you’d like to take, then start researching classes either in your area, or at a destination that you’d like to visit. Look at the overview to make sure that it meets your needs and call to ask any outstanding questions.
STEP 2: Before you attend the first class, list all the questions that you want to have answered by the end of the session. This will empower you to get any questions answered that may be causing insecurity or fear. Ask others who know you well if there are other questions that come to mind that would be helpful for you to get answered during your workshop.
STEP 3: Attend the class with an open mind. Use positive affirmations to remind yourself that fear does not stop you, and you are learning to be great at the topic to be discussed.
STEP 4: Take good notes. If your questions aren’t answered, ask them. Get as many details as possible until you feel comfortable that you can do it on your own once you leave the workshop.
STEP 5: Congratulate yourself on the big step forward that you took today and the newfound information you have in your toolbox.
