Time: 30 Minutes
STEP 1: Think about something you want to accomplish—this could be running a marathon, winning a business deal, setting boundaries in a difficult relationship, or achieving your ideal physical appearance. Spend a few minutes reflecting on what you want, and then create a positive affirmation relating to that goal, (ex: “I am so happy and grateful that I am now celebrating having achieved my ideal weight of 140 pounds.”). Continue with this exercise until you are satisfied with your list of positive affirmations. You can have 1 or 30. It simply depends on you and what you are working on.
STEP 2: Set aside a specific time that you dedicate to your affirmations. They are much less powerful if you rush through them on the way out the door. You can review all affirmations each time or focus on a specific affirmation each day.
STEP 3: To prepare your mindset, take three deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling to a count of 10.
STEP 4: Stand in front of a mirror and look yourself in the eyes. Smile, if it feels natural. Make a conscious effort to avoid thinking negative thoughts or falling into a limiting mindset. This is your moment to set yourself up for success. Say your affirmation(s) slowly and clearly to yourself in the mirror.
STEP 5: Repeat the affirmation(s) out loud two to four times, using facial expressions, emphasis and really focusing on the meaning of each word. Take another three deep breaths, allowing your body to absorb the positive feeling of the affirmation(s).
STEP 6: Write down your affirmation of the day and hang it up at your desk or somewhere you can see it often to remind yourself to manifest your goal.
