STEP 1: With the person you are working to help, identify and record the following on the Performance NOW and in the FUTURE Worksheet:
- Current results achieved by this person
- Current demonstrated actions that support the person’s goal
- Current skills and capabilities of the person
- Current areas of knowledge
- Current level of experience or experiences which have been successfully performed
STEP 2: Discuss with this person what goal they want to set for themselves in the future and what they will need to do in order to achieve those goals:
- FUTURE Results = ?
- FUTURE Actions = ?
- FUTURE Skills and Capabilities = ?
- FUTURE Knowledge = ?
- FUTURE Experience = ?
STEP 3: Based on the difference between the “NOW Performance” and the “FUTURE Performance”, identify the actions that can be taken to make sure this person is delivering high performing results for their future.
