Time: A few hours or a few days!
STEP 1: Look at dates that would be convenient for the two of you to have a getaway. If funds are an issue, even having a night at a hotel and getting away from your usual surroundings can give you the relaxation, excitement, or peace you are seeking. Groupons or pitching a tent in the back yard will work. It’s all about reconnecting and creating good memories.
STEP 2: Look at locations that are financially feasible and would be a good getaway for the two of you.
STEP 3: Look for activities that both of you will enjoy, preferably together. However, don’t book up your schedules too much. Allow plenty of down time so you don’t have to rush out of bed or have every moment accounted for. Plan a couple of free days and nights to simply see what opportunities present themselves.
STEP 4: Book it. Consider printing out a picture of the location and giving it to your loved one as an “invite” or purchasing something that can be used while you’re there (swimsuit, scuba mask, gift card for a massage or golf game, etc.).
STEP 5: Make a toast to your upcoming trip and keep it top of mind by posting pictures of your destination on the refrigerator.
