Time: 3 Hours
STEP 1: Review options of where you can go and what dates you are available. Is there a nearby town you’ve always driven past but never visited? How about a state landmark that you’d like to learn more about? Your mini-vacation could even be as simple as visiting an old friend who moved to a new city.
STEP 2: Make a budget for your trip then determine what you’ll do while you’re there that will help you relax, smile, laugh, or scream with excitement. Having fun doesn’t always mean you have to spend money—take a scenic drive or make a picnic and visit a nearby park…challenge yourself to break away from your normal routine at home.
STEP 3: Request time off at work and make any necessary arrangements (i.e. get a passport, arrange child and/or pet care, schedule tours/adventures, etc.)
STEP 4: Enjoy your much-needed getaway, and don’t forget to take pictures for lasting memories.
