Time: 1 - 2 Hours
STEP 1: Research nearby plays or musicals in your area (or make it a destination getaway!) and see what show speaks to you. Feel like going a step further? Consider planning ahead and purchasing tickets to a nationally acclaimed Broadway play like Hamilton or The Lion King and share in the excitement of a professional theater.
STEP 2: Decide when you will attend, then make an evening of it by looking for coffee, wine, or dinner places nearby to enjoy before or after the play.
STEP 3: If you choose, invite someone to share in the experience of engaging in your local community and the arts/culture scene.
STEP 4: Many times during intermission you have the opportunity to send a note to the actors/actresses. Dropping them a line of encouragement for what you like about their performance is a great way to compliment and motivate them. You might give someone who is struggling the empowering words they need to believe in themselves and their abilities.
STEP 5: If you have kids with you, have them ask for an autograph and picture with their favorite actors/actresses. It will mean SO much to the actors/actresses and it’s a great keepsake for the children. Be sure to keep the playbill from the show and hang it up on your refrigerator or near your desk to remind yourself to continue to try new things and experience LIFE.
