Weekly Workout Routine

PURPOSE: Develop a weekly workout routine, write it down and post it in a place that you can see every day. Increase your chances of making it a habit. As we all know, what gets written down, is MUCH more likely to get done.

Time: 30 Minutes - 1 Hour

STEP 1Set aside 15-20 minutes to develop a weekly workout routine, breaking it out by activity and time spent, so you’ll know exactly what to do. If necessary print it out so you can review it during your workout. You can easily print out a weekly calendar from your phone or a version online that you like.

STEP 2: Think about working different body parts each day so you don’t overdo one area and neglect another. Review types of exercises that can strengthen various parts of the body. Don’t fret if you don’t have hand weights or a gym; you can do wonders with using resistance with your body weight.

STEP 3: Once you develop your routine the next step is getting up and making it happen. Put your workout clothes & shoes either right beside the bed or in your car so they will be close and available.

STEP 4: If it will help you with accountability or making it more fun and exciting, invite a friend to join you. They can encourage and push you during those last few reps.

STEP 5: Reward yourself for making it happen. Keep up the good work; you’ll be SO thankful you did.
