STEP 1: Make a list of things you think you’d like to do in your life…some you’ve always wanted to do and others that may take you out of your comfort zone a bit. Then Google “adventures” or look online and see what friends are doing on social media to enhance your list. This could be a weekend trip to a nearby city, an international trip, or even something as simple as riding a horse or taking a cooking class. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, but also don’t be afraid to think outside the box!
STEP 2: Determine which life adventure you’d like to do first, second, and third. Consider logistics such as funds, timing, weather, going it alone or bringing a friend, etc. Consider starting small and working up to the larger adventures, allowing yourself time to plan bigger experiences, while also seeing how easily adventures of any size can fit into your life.
STEP 3: Set dates for the 1st choice and determine the month you’ll do your 2nd and 3rd choices. Setting goals to accomplish your dreams/adventures is just as important and effective as setting goals to accomplish your obligations. If you’re planning on inviting a friend, reach out to them to get it on their calendar.
STEP 4: Make a list of what needs to be done, purchased, or considered before your event. Give yourself enough time to prepare accordingly.
STEP 5: Enjoy pushing your limits! Once you enjoy the afterglow of accomplishment, set a goal to do something new at least once a quarter, or preferably monthly.
